Meet the rookies of Season 7:Ethan Conner-Ross
A new feature for 07-08, meet the new AFBL rookies. First up, Ethan Conner-Ross. By day Ethan shuffles papers and makes pie charts (sometimes bar graphs), but on weekends starting tomorrow – he’ll be on the hard linoleum of McCall Elementary school playing basketball. I did a little Q&A with Ethan to prepare the league for his coming out.
JF: When was the last time you played basketball?
ECR: I have not played since the summer of 2005- my final summer working at summer camp and the official end of my youth.
JF: What do you do for a living?
For a living, I dominate spreadsheets, write e-mails, and occasionally make pretty charts.
JF: What do you do for fun?
When at home, I have my DVR, iPod and X-box wired directly into my brain to save sensory effort. And to stay in shape, I chase my dog from room to room until we get tired.
JF: What NBA player do you try and emulate on the court, and what NBA player do you play most like?
I model my game after a latter day Mike Bibby, or a sooner day Kirk Heinrich. I play like Kevin Ollie?
JF: Any nicknames we can taunt you with?
In my high school days, hecklers were known to chant “Road Trip” because of an apparent resemblance to film sensation DJ Qualls.
