BIG DEAL=AFBL Art Show

So first the league was on the blacktop of McCall. Then the league was in the McCall gym. Somewhere in there a website was born, as were stats pages. Then the blog. Now this.

The first ever group AFBL art show is this Saturday at the brand new gallery-retail space started by the Rebecca Keller Andrew Freeborn union on 623 2nd Street. Thats just north of Spring Garden across from Reload baggetry which as you may know is also AFBL related. How so? Well at the AFBL players show this saturday you can find out.

hey dudes .

so , my buddy matt leines is having a show at the space on april 6th. he is rad, his art is rad , and you should go look at it.

the good thing about shows at the space is that they dont get popping until 9 or 10 . that would would give you more than enough time to go to the painted bride from 6-8 for the other show that night. mine.

This Friday Andrew Jeffery Wright has an art show at 1726 Chestnut St. The opening is from 5 to 10. It is a split show, Skullphone is handling the half the work load. Probably the lighter half of the work load. Go to the show instead of being an Amaechi. Post art party at the 700 club where the AJ Dubs DJs.

this photo is from the the 1026ers opening at the ICA . many of the artists in philly, hell , the country , would cut off their ear to have a single painting hung at that place .this is the space’s SECOND show there.

i like this photo because they are all in it (well , most of them anyway ) in it , posing for the fans . they deserve the adoration. i never would have guessed that the this dirty,dungeon of a place , founded to avoid getting actual jobs , would become a philly institution .

10 fucking years. crazy. you should hug these people when you see them and say thanks.

This Friday the President of the league John Freeborn and future first ballot AFBL hall of famer Andrew Jeffery Wright along with many other former AFBLers and Space 1026ers will have their arts on the display at the ICA. The opening is this Friday anyway. The carte postale is below. I hope to see all of you there. You can ask me how I scooped Houser on an art event.

there’s a show up right now with andrew wright and other shitty artists like me up at collette , in paris . i recommend everyone fly over and check it out. the food and wine over there is just delish .

this is for anybody that likes playing guitar or making things out of wood.

i read this book recently about the history of the guitar in america , and one part goes into detail about the history of cigarbox guitars. the genesis being, lots of poor poeple couldnt afford a real intrument, so these things kind of grew out of necessity .

it’s something that’s pretty easy to make , and they are crazy looking .
