Fort Thunder show at RISD Museum

Earlier this month I took a short trip to New England. I had one key reason for going north. I wanted to see the Fort Thunder show at the RISD Musuem. The show is called “WUNDERGROUND: PROVIDENCE, 1995 TO THE PRESENT” and isn’t just Fort Thunder, but also some Providence people. But, Fort Thunder rules the show. When you enter the show you see the top left photo. Immediately it’s impressive. The wall of posters hits you hard. I realized once again the volume of work that these guys have put out. Then you turn left and realize there’s a room about 3 times the size of room 1, top right photo, filled to the gills. Then, there’s another room to boot. There’s so much to see. Gems all over the place. There is also a big installation room with some very cool stuff. If you are able and don’t go see this show you should stop making art and get a job as a desk clerk in a dentist’s office. The shows runs until January 7th.

Everything old is new again

skatefall rev 1.1 Skatefall has been a big hit. From crailtap, to wired, and blogs all over the web, the response has been amazing. One major issue has now been resolved and PC users should find this minor update more friendly when going left in the game. >play skatefall now!!!
Jungle Bothers Over the last week or so I re-listened to the first Jungle Brother’s album. It’s so good, so ahead of it’s time. I’m not 100% sure but it sounds like a Prince Paul production. Can anyone back me up on that? If you’ve never had the pleasure of this record, do so. ->buy it from someone
The Onion A good buddy who goes by the name Evil Hockey sent me this onion story. I’m not usually one for re-linking stuff, but this time I’ll make an exception. “Retired S1Ws Recalled to Active Duty”
>read this story on the onion

MEW Grand Opening – Saturday

Mew Gallery Logo MEW Gallery, front window
Mew Gallery, inside Mew Gallery, looking back
Mew Gallery is having their grand opening this Saturday. If you are going to be in the Philadelphia area you should come by. Lauren and Carolynne have been hard at work for months getting this place toghether and it’s looking good. MEW will have artist made goods from mostly Philadelphia based artisans: clothes, jewelry, prints, toys, dog scarves, and much much more. There is also an art gallery, with many good shows in the works. These photos are from last week, so you’ll notice some rough edges, but don’t worry. On Saturday there will be food and fun. Oh, and I did the logo and website. Go on Saturday, buy something and support the good works.

Lux, and my first Lux map – Philadelphia

My first Lux map - Philadelphia Lux Screenshots
Those of you that know me, know that I have a wee bit of a video game addiction. One of my more recent outlets has been Lux, by SillySoft. This is a turn based game in the mode of Risk, but it’s fully customizable and supports a strong online community. There is a ranking system and it’s a damn fine game. I just made my first map, Philadelphia, and it is also Luxtoberfest, so it’s time to go to war. See you there.

This print has been in my head for a long time. Pink joysticks in every direction. This print is in an edition of 100, hand screen printed at SPACE1026 on some sweet graph paper. Every print is signed, numbered, and dated. Get one here. Inspired by a Keith Haring drawing I saw once, years ago.
