This isn’t used in medical testing, but it’s a real thing. The definition, “A detrimental effect on health produced by psychological or psychosomatic factors such as negative expectations of treatment or prognosis.” In simpler terms, you think you are going to get sick from something and then you get sick–the mind is a powerful thing.
